The December issue is out.

This month we have featured a personal experience of one of our youth member during Voice of Youth (VOY) Program last October at Talavera, Nueva Ecija. And we have a submitted article from one of our youth member who now works in the US. She shares a testimony of how God protected her while driving through the slippery roads of Montana last Thanksgiving.

Finally, we were able to make a new newsletter for our Youth Ministry. It’s called Hi-C, short for Higher Calling. A new name for a new newsletter. We want to avoid the controversy with the previous name thus we made it sound more wholesome this time.

The articles would be from the www.highcalling.net. Although we may be publishing articles exclusively in the print edition once we have more articles to work with.

We will continue to make this monthly. So visit us again for the next issue. Happy reading.

iPraise

The Youth Program for the month of September was a Music Festival at Pasay Adventist Church. Every Sabbath afternoon was filled with music and praise for the Almighty. And on the last sabbath of September, a finale Praise and Worship Concert was held called “iPraise”.

Despite the rain, we were blest with performers who gave their talents for the Lord. It was a great event and we hope those who attended the program were blest as well.

YM R&R Overnight Outing

The Youth Ministries Department of PAC will be having a Rest and Recreation (R&R) Outing this coming October 6-7, 2007 at Dona Salud Resort in Laguna. All youth and young professionals ages 18 and above are invited to the R&R. Meeting place is at 600pm Oct 6 at PAC and we will be going as a group. We are also thinking of a second batch to leave the next day, October 7 at 700 am but this is not yet final.

No contribution will be asked. Each participant will be in charge of paying for his own transportation and food. It’s KKB and bring your own baon. We are still arranging for food delivery or pick up at the place so that there will be less hassle with the participants. We will update you regarding this arrangement.

Updates

Meeting place: Meeting place is still at PAC at 600pm. We will leave at around 630-700pm. We suggest that you should have dinner at this time already.

Food: There are food stalls like Binalot and Andok’s nearby Dona Salud. We can contribute for the food and have a car go to the stalls to buy the food for those who contribute. For Andok’s, 1 whole chicken is around 150+ pesos. For Binalot, prices maybe around 80-100 pesos. You are free to bring your own food.

Budget: Transportation is about 60-80 pesos for 1 trip. Depending on your appetite, food may be around 150-300 for dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Attendees: This is open to SDA members. Non-SDA members can also be invited as long as they will comply to SDA standards.

No Good Samaritan

I was reading an article from the Adventist Review about a pastor meeting an “angel” on the road. The “angel” was quick to provide him the help he needed when his car broke down on a rainy day. Without being asked to, the “angel” would get his tools and give him his poncho. And without asking for anything in return, he just asked that the pastor to help two other stangers instead whenever the pastor gets an oppurtinity.

I want to help people but I chose whom to help. I have been tricked many times that even giving a coin to a helpless child was hard for me unless I can truly see that he needs that coin. Otherwise I would pretend the child was never there.

I find that cruel and I feel ashamed for that character. I find it hard trusting a stranger. Its a lot easy for me to scold a stanger cutting in line that helping the stanger when in distress. I find it hard because I dont know their real intentions. For a stanger cutting in line, I know the intentions are bad and I will scold him. But when in distress, I cant see the real motive.

Should I help anyone? Should I help blindly? Whatever the stanger’s real motives are? Even if my life will actually be in danger?

I strive to help stangers. But still, I get to be picky. Maybe that’s why I cant find good help these days.

Lesson? Never ever limit yourself when it comes to happiness, learn how to let go and move on. Life is beautiful.

A Night to Remember

The Youth Ministries Department had an Acoustic Night held at the basketball court of Pasay Adventist Church last February 24, 2007. It was a night of fun and music. Although my part was not exactly something I would want to remember (got a shaky voice because I was so nervous!), I think everyone enjoyed that evening.
